When should the Sunnah of Jummu’ah be performed?
Assalaamu Alaikum
If I arrive for jummah, and the English Bayan (given before the second azan and 2 Arabic kutbah is already in progress and usually some Quran and Hadith is referenced in the Bayan, Do I need to sit and listen or can I pray my 4 rakaat Sunnah?
Wa Alaikum Assalaam,
If the English bayan is going on and you have not performed your four Sunnah as yet, then you must perform your four Sunnah and then listen to the bayan.
If however, a short time is given at the end of the English bayan for the performance of the four Sunnah (as it occurs in some Masjid), then you should sit and listen to the bayan, and then perform the four Sunnah at the time given for its performance.
