Uttering words of divorce.
Q. A man with intention says to his wife directly or indirectly “there now” or “get there now”. In the mind he was thinking of the wife’s mum. What is the state of his nikkah? Does saying these have any affect on it?
A. If these statements are said without an intention of separation/divorce then it will have no effect on a persons nikah. However, if the husband had an intention of divorcing his wife by asking her to go to the mother’s place, then a divorce would occur.
