Ruling On Nikah

Question: Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu.
I would like to know what is the Islamic ruling regarding weddings. In my country, it is customary for the bride’s family to invite family and friends of the bride and the family of the groom to partake of a meal on the day of the nikah ceremony. Males and females are totally separate and are only served by their respective genders. In some families the groom’s mother and/or sister(s) and other relatives take the bride home. In others, the groom himself comes for the bride. Is it also permissible for the parents to take the bride to her husband’s home? Is this permissible if no extravagance is included and no haraam activities for example: photography and inter-mingling of the genders take place?
Jazakallah Khair.

Answer:
