Purchasing a new car, house, etc.
Q. When a Muslim purchases a new car, house, etc., what does the Sunnah say that he or she should do to thank ALLAH. What I am trying to find out is if one should go to an Imam to bless it for him.
A. There is no requirement in Islam for one who purchases a new vehicle to do what you have asked about. Instead, it is sufficient for one to express gratitude to Allah in his own supplications and also ask Allah to protect the vehicle from theft, accidents and other mishaps.
