Permissible Salaah Timings

Question: As Salamu Alaikum,

I am a little confused about the prohibited times to pray.I was wondering if you can add to the salah time table the times that we are not supposed to pray and a reminder as to how much time must pass for us to resume praying(for those who want to pray any nafl salah)…jazakallah khair

Answer:

Wa Alaikum As Salaam,

Insha Allah we will look into this. However, as a general guideline, it will not be allowed to pray at the following times:

  1. When the sun is rising

  2. When the sun is directly above your head (at midday)- when the sun is in its zenith or noontime.

  3. When the sun is setting.

Along with this, it will be Makrooh (reprehensible) for you to perform Nafl Salaah after you have performed your Fajr Salaah until 15 minutes after sunrise, and after you have performed your Asr Salaah until the sun has set.

And Allah Knows Best.

Mufti Waseem Khan.
