Missed Fasts and Salaah
Q: Asalamualaikum,,i wanted to know that if a person has missed many years of prayers and ramadhan fasts and then died without offering a qadha for them in his lifetime,so after his death what can be done to compensate for those missed fardh prayers and fasts ? His relatives wish to know if they could use his property to give some sort of compensation or fidya as it is perhaps called or do anythng on his behalf to make up for his missed fardh prayers and fasts
A: Wa alaikum salaam,
Yes, fidya can be paid for every Salaah missed and for every fast missed. The fidya will be the same amount as Sadaqatul Fitr.
