Q. What is the islamic view on muslim men wearing “white gold”? Is white gold and yellow gold considered as the same?
A. While explaining what white gold is, the experts have stated that it is ‘any of several gold alloys colored white by the presence of nickel, palladium or platinum.’ (Webster’s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary).
From this, it is clearly established that white gold contains yellow gold (gold itself) and hence, will fall under the same prohibition as gold (yellow gold). As such, it will not be permissible for men to wear white gold.
