Keeping books and magazines with pictures.
Q. I have certain magazines and books which have pictures in them, what should I do with them? There is no picture on the cover but inside there are pictures and there are encyclopedias, what should I do?
A. There is no harm in having educational books which contain pictures in them. This has been allowed due to need and necessity. Magazines that are not educational, nor beneficial and contain pictures should be thrown away/burnt. Some of these magazines are haram on account of their contents and the type of pictures they have.
Encyclopedias are educational, and should be kept.
