Giving Jumuah Khutbah In Another Language

Question: Assalamualikum Mufti Sb can Jumma Khutbah be given in another language beside Arabic or only in Arabic.

Answer:

Wa Alaikum As Salaam,

The majority of the scholars from the past and present have stated that the Jumma Khutba must be given in the Arabic language. It must not be given in another language. They have stated that in order to facilitate the people who do not understand the Arabic language, a short lecture can be given in their language before the actual Khutba begins.
