Can deer be used for Aqiqah?

I am asking on behalf of a brother he would like to know if he can use a deer for the purpose of doing the Aqiqah.

Wa Alaikum Assalaam,

Aqiqah can only be done with such animals which can be used for Qurbani. This includes goats, sheep, cows and camels. The deer is not from among these animals, and hence, cannot be used for Aqiqah.
