Calling Allah’s curse upon oneself.

Q. I once accidently said, ‘May Gods curse be upon me if I do (so and so act)’ and I gave strict conditons. Will I have God’s curse on me? I said this in a state of forgetfullness and in a state of anger, can the curse be repealed? Can God forgive me as I had forgotten and didn’t give thought to the serious consequences. I said it in a state of enthusiasm. Will I be forgiven? Can I take back what I said?

A. If you said this statement and then did the actions that were connected to it, then you can have the curse of God upon you since you made the statement with a conscious mind and heart, and you understood clearly what you said without being coerced to do so.

Now that you realize that it was wrong to do, it is essential upon you to turn to Allah in sincere repentance, begging Him for His forgiveness, and promising Him that you will never do this act again. You must also beg Allah to withhold any punishment (whatsoever) which may have been decreed upon you on account of the curse which you have incurred upon yourself. Insha Allah, it is hoped that Allah will turn to you with His Mercy and forgiveness.

And Allah knows best.
