ATTACKS IN PARIS ARE AGAINST THE TEACHINGS OF ISLAM.

The Darul Uloom Trinidad & Tobago wishes to outrightly condemn the recent attacks in Paris which have claimed the lives of many innocent people. Such violent actions are totally against the blessed teachings of Islam as given in the Holy Quraan and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (upon whom be peace and blessings). Those who have committed such atrocities have violated the teachings of Islam, and have shown total disregard to the value and respect for human life which Islam advocates.

Islam teaches peace and goodness, and stands for these at all times. It respects the lives and properties of all human beings, regardless of their faith and religious persuasion, and has prohibited the act of causing harm to them.

Killing and attacking people, as we have seen, is not part of Islam. Suicide bombing is not part of Islam. Threatening people to attack them, is not part of Islam. Abducting and holding people as hostages are not from Islam. In short, what we have seen in the recent past until present, are not from the teachings of Islam, nor are these from the actions of Muslims. Those who propagate and promote such violence and wickedness, do so to fulfil their plans and motives under the guise of Islam, which in truth, has nothing to do with Islam.

It is sad to see that Islam is being used by individuals to achieve their personal gains, without any consideration for human life and property and without any remorse for the sufferings which have already occurred.

The Darul Uloom denounces all such activities which amount to violence, attacking the innocent, destruction of lives and properties and disturbance to global peace and goodness among nations and people. These violent actions are totally against the true teachings of Islam, and Darul Uloom Trinidad and Tobago distances itself from all such groups and factions which propagate, promote and engage in such acts.

We request our brothers and sisters in humanity to not judge Islam and Muslims based on these violent acts that are perpetrated and committed by individuals and dissident groups in the name of Islam.

Management,

Darul Uloom Trinidad and Tobago.
