Is it an act of Kufr if a person mocks the beard, leather socks, etc?

Question:

Assalamu Alaykum,

Is it an act of Kufr if a person mocks the beard, leather socks, ect?

An example of this is if a Muslim had a fistful or longer beard and then someone insults his appearance. Additionally, another example of this is if a Muslim mocked someone that wears leather khuffs/socks.

JazakAllah Khair.

Answer:

Wa Alaikum as Salaam,

All praises are for Allah and Peace and blessings be upon Allah’s final Prophet (SAS).

With Allah’s help, the following is the answer to your question:-

Keeping a beard and wearing the leather socks are all from the

Sunnah of the Prophet (SAS). Mocking these are extremely grave and sinful. If one does it with the intention to mock the sunnah of the Prophet (SAS), then as mentioned by the scholars, this act will be Kufr (disbelief).
